Jim Allister

Carla Lockhart

Richard Tice

Alex Easton

Jim Shannon

Sammy Wilson

Nigel FarageLee AndersonJames McMurdock

That this House declines to give a Second Reading to the Product Regulation and Metrology Bill [Lords], because it provides the basis for using the threat of divergence between Northern Ireland and Great Britain to sabotage the biggest democratic vote in the history of the United Kingdom, laying the foundation for nullifying Brexit in Great Britain as it has already been nullified in Northern Ireland, and because in doing so the Bill needlessly restricts the freedom of the UK to negotiate trade deals with other countries such as the United States.

Andrew Griffith

Rebecca Harris

Greg Smith

Dame Harriett Baldwin

Joy Morrissey

Mr Gagan Mohindra

That this House declines to give a Second Reading to the Product Regulation and Metrology Bill [Lords] because it will provide for regulatory alignment with the European Union, and it has been condemned three times by the House of Lords Delegated Powers and Regulatory Reform Committee as a skeleton Bill which provides, without justification, inappropriately wide powers for Ministers to re-write the regulatory regimes for product safety and the weights and measures of goods by regulations.

(4)Proceedings on Consideration shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion one hour before the moment of interruption on the day on which those proceedings are commenced.

(5)Proceedings on Third Reading shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion at the moment of interruption on that day.

(6)Standing Order No. 83B (Programming committees) shall not apply to proceedings on Consideration and Third Reading.

Other proceedings

(7)Any other proceedings on the Bill may be programmed.

4. Product Regulation and Metrology Bill [Lords]: Money

No debate (Standing Order No. 52(1)(a))

James Murray

That, for the purposes of any Act resulting from the Product Regulation and Metrology Bill [Lords], it is expedient to authorise the payment out of money provided by Parliament of:

(1)any expenditure incurred under or by virtue of the Act by the Secretary of State, and

(2)any increase attributable to the Act in the sums payable under or by virtue of any other Act out of money so provided.

Notes:

If this item is opposed after 7.00pm, the division will be deferred.
