1Death of a Member

The Speaker made the following communication to the House:

I regret to have to report to the House the death of Jack Dromey, the hon. Member for Birmingham, Erdington. I know hon. Members in all parts of the House will join me in mourning the loss of a colleague and in extending our sympathy to the hon. Member’s family and friends. I would like to invite all Members to join me in a minute’s silence in memory of Jack. I also wish to assure the House that there will be an opportunity to pay tribute to Jack at a later date, to be determined in consultation with the family. Members wishing to send letters of condolences to the family can do so via the Speaker’s Office who will collate them and pass them on.

2Observation of a period of silence

The House observed a minute’s silence in memory of Jack Dromey.

5Nuclear Energy (Financing) Bill: Programme (No. 2)

(2) Proceedings on Consideration shall (so far as not previously concluded) be brought to a conclusion two hours after the commencement of proceedings on the Motion for this Order.
